OUR HISTORY AND FOUNDER
As a child Grace Malaika Yuma had a passion to aid and become a blessing to others. Grace was only 12 years old when she lost her father. The pain of growing up without a father compassionately drew her to wanting to help orphans. Grace Malaika would say "one day I will build an orphanage". In 2009, Malaika Grace Yuma was working in Non-Government Organization as the head of women and children. She went to village of Ngote where she was assigned to help child soldiers, and women who have been raped to fill out the application. Grace Malaika Yuma was advocating for those children and women by talking on their behalf at 8th and 9th assembly of state of parties in Hague and New York (United Nations).

During her stay on village of Ngote, Grace Malaika met a young boy without shoes, his clothes were ripped, holding a plastic bag as backpack. Grace Malaika Yuma shed tears and declared that she will adopt children and give them hope. Most of children in the East of the Democratic Republic of Congo have lost their parents due to war and they don’t have shelter. In 2010, Grace Malaika Yuma emigrated to the United States and instead she decided to study "Human services" A field that helped her understand people's needs and walk into her calling when she graduated from Bethel University, she decided to pursue and accomplish her goal of helping people. Grace Malaika Yuma received free land in the village of Ngote. The same village where she saw a young boy full of talents but with lack of opportunity going to school. Grace Malaika was convicted that it was God’s timing to build an orphanage.

Grace Malaika Yuma is a prayer warrior and created a prayer group named ‘’Les Amoureux du Seigneur ‘’. She believes that prayer changes any and every circumstance. She had a project of building an orphanage since age 15 and prayed about it. ‘’Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase’’ (MLK).
